Your vessel earns when it is working. Its engine needs an oil selected for the job, and its owner needs dependable supply and clear operating costs. FEOTECH is now accepting Indonesian orders for Gazpromneft M-14G2CS: a mineral marine engine oil with a long-established place in Russian fleet practice. For fishing boats, harbour craft and coastal operators with suitable diesel engines, it is an opportunity to evaluate a proven marine grade with local technical and commercial support.

A familiar name in Russia’s fleet — a new option for Indonesian owners

Drawing on this fleet history, FEOTECH positions M-14G2CS as a bestseller of traditional Russian marine lubrication: a familiar working-fleet grade with more than four decades of documented history. The M-10/14/16G2CS series appears in fleet instructions effective from 1984 and in later merchant, fishing and inland-waterway operating documents.

That experience matters to Indonesian businesses operating mature diesel engines. Fishing vessels, tugs, coastal cargo craft, passenger vessels and diesel generator sets need practical product selection, traceable quality documents and a supply plan that fits their operation. M-14G2CS is a candidate where the engine’s lubricant requirements match the grade.

What the engine gets: cleanliness, acid control and water separation

Gazpromneft describes the product as a mineral oil with an effective additive package. Detergent and dispersant functions help control deposits and keep contamination dispersed. Its alkaline reserve helps neutralise acidic combustion products. These are useful capabilities when evaluating lubrication for engines with long service histories and demanding operating schedules.

Marine service also brings water exposure. The manufacturer highlights resistance to additive wash-out and good demulsifying properties, supporting water separation in purifiers. These characteristics support oil-system maintenance; any coolant leak or abnormal water ingress still needs to be corrected.

The product’s typical viscosity at 100 °C lies within the SAE 40 kinematic-viscosity band. Final selection also considers engine design, fuel and the complete lubricant specification.

Marine engineering behind the grade: GOST requirements

GOST 12337-2020 specifies M-14G2CS as a marine diesel oil. Its requirements address additive wash-out by water, emulsification, oxidation stability, corrosion and four-ball wear and scuffing performance. The minimum base number is 9.0 mg KOH/g.

This is why the product deserves a technical discussion beyond a short API label. The TDS also lists API CC; it does not describe every marine-specific property. GOST requirements and API categories are different assessment systems, so they do not establish a direct claim to a higher API category. FEOTECH checks the actual engine specification before recommending a change.

Real vessels, identifiable engines and a history that can be checked

The presentation connects the grade with named vessels and documented procurement. One example is the research vessel Dalnie Zelentsy, built in 1978: 55.65 metres long, with a 736 kW SKL 6NVD48A-2U main engine and three 150 kW generator sets, according to the 2019 Russian Maritime Register. A 2026 procurement record lists M-14G2CS for the vessel.

Another example is the fisheries research vessel Oleg Betin: 31.85 metres long, with a 232 kW 6ChNSP18/22 main engine in the same register. Its 2026 oil purchase includes M-14G2CS alongside other lubricants. These records establish procurement of the grade for the vessels; they do not identify the oil’s brand or prove which engine received it.

Historical fleet rules also list M-14G2CS for specific SKL NVD engines and other diesel models. For certain NVD and Wärtsilä 4R22B applications, the rules address seawater temperatures above 26 °C. That is a useful starting point for a tropical-service discussion, followed by verification against the particular engine manual.

A practical starting point: engines already working in Indonesia

The revised R5.3c presentation adds an Indonesian fleet overview and an engine-requirement matrix. A concrete example is the Yanmar TF family: Yanmar Indonesia lists SAE 40 CC/CD in its lubricant specifications and shows the TF 300 H-di driving a fishing boat. This makes the family a relevant starting point for assessing M-14G2CS against a specific engine’s requirements.

FEOTECH checks the exact model, manual, fuel and duty before proposing a change. A matching viscosity band and listed API category are selection criteria, not a Yanmar product approval. Engines requiring API CD or a later category, a multigrade oil or a specific OEM approval need separate documented confirmation. Used-oil monitoring supports an agreed trial; it does not certify a higher API category.

A better buying decision starts with cost per 1,000 engine hours

The cheapest drum does not automatically give the lowest operating cost. FEOTECH proposes comparing oil changes, top-ups, filters, oil analysis and comparable maintenance costs over the same number of engine hours, on the same delivery and tax basis.

A pilot on one suitable vessel can establish a practical baseline: oil consumption, condition trends and actual cost per 1,000 hours. This gives the owner evidence for a supply decision. Any change to the drain interval follows engine requirements and monitoring results.

Orders are open: send your engine details to FEOTECH

Gazpromneft M-14G2CS is available to order through PT FEOTECH Energy Nusantara, the authorised Gazpromneft Lubricants distributor in Indonesia. Send your required quantity and destination port for a quotation. Price, delivery timing and stock availability are confirmed with the offer.

For product selection, send a photograph of the engine nameplate, the lubricant page from its manual, the current oil, sump capacity, fuel type and monthly operating hours. Our team can then assess suitability and discuss a changeover and supply plan.

  1. Send the vessel and engine information.
  2. Receive a technical assessment and commercial quotation.
  3. Agree the first delivery and changeover plan.
  4. Review operating results and plan subsequent supply.

A short Q&A with FEOTECH

DIRECTOR’S PERSPECTIVE

Why bring M-14G2CS to Indonesia now?

We see a practical opportunity for owners of fishing boats, coastal vessels and working craft: evaluate an established Russian marine grade with support close to their business. Our offer combines product selection, documentation and a clear commercial proposal. The aim is to help the customer choose an oil that fits the engine and understand its actual operating cost. The first step can be one vessel and a well-defined trial order.

SALES TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Can an owner switch simply because the current oil is SAE 40?

Start with the engine model and the lubricant requirements in its manual. We also need the current oil, fuel, system capacity and operating conditions. Viscosity alone is not enough to approve a change. We check the relevant documents, discuss compatibility and agree the changeover and monitoring approach. Send us the nameplate and manual page, and we can start a focused technical assessment.
