Quality control starts before oil enters the system

The sample was drawn directly from commercial packaging at the storage location using dedicated extraction equipment. This helps verify the condition of the delivered product before filling and establishes a documented starting point for later monitoring.

Independent laboratory test results

In July 2025, a fresh sample of Gazpromneft Hydraulic HLP 46 was tested by an independent laboratory in Indonesia. FEOTECH's technical summary of the measurements shows the principal parameters in normal condition and consistent with the product data sheet.

Taken together, the results do not indicate water ingress, significant contamination or a viscosity deviation in the sample tested. Clean filling procedures and closed, protected storage remain essential to preserve that condition until the oil enters the system.

What the results mean for users

Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C measured 47.56 cSt, within the ISO VG 46 range of 41.4-50.6 cSt. Viscosity at 100 °C was 6.971 cSt, also close to the listed typical value of 6.8 cSt, confirming consistency with the declared grade.

A TAN of 0.41 mg KOH/g, water content of 84 ppm, a 234 °C flash point and 0/0 foaming results in all three sequences support the technical assessment that the fresh-oil sample was in good condition. The ISO 4406 cleanliness code of 18/16/11 provides a documented baseline; final cleanliness targets should still follow the relevant OEM and system-filtration requirements.

A single test result applies only to the sample tested and does not replace batch-level quality control. Its value is in a repeatable process: take a representative sample, use relevant ASTM and ISO methods, compare the results with manufacturer data, and retain a baseline for future technical decisions.
